This is supposed to be a vintage truck show (post to come later). But a Nash Metropolitan, Dodge Rampage (I’ll accept it) and a Daihatsu Midget II showed up. I’ve never seen a Rampage IRL.

My sister’s first car was a Rampage, same color as that one, with a color matching canopy. My dad bought it out of an estate around 1996, and gave it to her, I think it was $1500 or so. It had malaise era driveability issues, and as she was a young woman who couldn’t risk tinkering with a car, traded it in on a blurple Contour. The Rampage might still be out there, the Contour, likely not.

I’ve never seen a Rampage either, and now that I have, I really like that Nash.

So of those 3 cars the Rampage is the one you haven’t seen IRL before...
Oh British Columbia you so weird.

My grandfather has owned two of those three vehicles, and at the same time now that I think about it.

There is a massive crowd around the rampage

Fun fact, the Daihatsu Midget II ‘vans’ like that one only came with automatics while the Midget II trucks came with sticks with an auto as an option! :D
Also, I desperately want a Midget truck and to paint it in flat army tan with a military paintjob theme...saw one online once and it looked epic!

I didn't even know the rampage existed.

The rampage/scamp was a current model when I was a kid, and I don’t remember them being all that common back then either. The L-body cars were all treated pretty much as throwaways (except for the Shelby ones) so survivors are pretty rare. I can only think of a couple times in the last 10 years or so that I saw one in person. Both in really good shape so obviously preserved by someone who “knew what they had.”

I had a Rampage and regret not still having it. That owner should be relieved of his ownership for it’s sake.

He has 3 of them total

All three of those are awesome. Never turn your nose up at a Metropolitan.

I’ll try harder for next time! :P

I went to cap with someone who dailyed a Rampage for several years. She sold it this year I think.
My grandma used to have a Nash Metropolitan, for quite a few years in the 60s and 70s I think

If Ramp ages were rwd.... I’d love to have a modern hemi swapped and rwd one with a picture of Archer on the hood.
